What is a Transcript?
A transcript is a comprehensive record of a student's academic performance including courses transferred, credit by exam, and degrees awarded.
Official transcripts are printed on security paper with the University of Indianapolis seal and signature of the Registrar. The University of Indianapolis offers official transcripts via secure electronic PDF. Transcripts that are ordered and received in the Office of the Registrar or requested to be mailed are sealed in an tamper-proof envelope.
All official transcripts are formatted to list your entire UIndy course history, grades, and GPA information in chronological order.
The transcript contains the following information:
- The student's name and birthday
- The student identification number
- A list of all courses taken at any campus of the University of Indianapolis
- All credit and grades awarded
- A list of all courses taken at other universities which were accepted for transfer credit (without grades displayed)
- Any University of Indianapolis degree awarded to the student along with the degree date
- The student's semester and cumulative grade point averages
If a student attended the University of Indianapolis for both undergraduate and graduate work, all courses will be printed out on a transcript. Separate grade point averages will be maintained for work taken as an undergraduate student and as a graduate student.
Please Note: To receive a copy of your official transcript, you must complete and sign any required forms, pay any associated transcript fee(s), and satisfy all financial obligations to the University, including fees or fines owed to the Office of Student Billing and Payment, Campus Police, Library, and Health Center. If you have any past balance due with any of these offices, there will be a "hold" on your record and we will not be able to issue your transcript. The university does not accept email or telephone requests for transcripts. It is a violation of the law to release a transcript without the student's documented authorization. For more information, please visit the US Department of Education FERPA site.
Current students may access their unofficial transcript via their MyUIndy account. UIndy does not issue unofficial transcripts to students who are no longer enrolled.
