Handicap
Special parking spaces for the physically handicapped are located in various lots and are indicated by signs or painted markings. If you have a handicap parking permit, you can park in a handicap space no matter the lot designation.
In order for an individual to use a space provided for the handicapped, the vehicle must bear an Indiana or other state-issued license plate or state handicap permit. Please make sure the handicap permit is clearly displayed on your vehicle. Handicap spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Violators may be towed.
"Reserved for United Way Contributor" spaces are located around campus. These spaces are reserved for designated donors and are enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Violators may be towed.
Several areas around UIndy buildings are loading zones designated for loading or unloading one's vehicle. The operator of a vehicle that is being loaded or unloaded should activate their emergency flashers. Vehicles are allowed in loading zones for 20 minutes. For tasks that require more time, contact UIndy Police at 317-788-3333. Violators may be cited or towed from loading zones.
Some areas near residence halls and other University buildings are designated as fire lanes. These areas provide parking for emergency vehicles. Violators may be ticketed by any police agency having jurisdiction at the University of Indianapolis and vehicles in violation may be towed.
"Reserved Parking" signs may be posted on individual parking stalls. Unless the sign specifies otherwise, these reserved spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Violators may be towed.
