About the MSN-NNP Track
The MSN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) track is designed for NICU nurses and is led by active nurse practitioners. The hands-on clinical training and observation take place at neonatal intensive care units of a variety of hospitals throughout the State of Indiana, including the NICUs of Riley Children’s and St. Vincent Hospitals. These two organizations are the Level IV units in Indiana and are nationally recognized.
Track Length & Format
The MSN-NNP track is 53 credit hours with 750 clinical hours. Our part-time track is 3 years.
The track is offered in cohorts. Core and specialty courses are available online, making it very flexible to fit your busy lifestyle. Our online program is one of very few that offers synchronous virtual classes that resemble a traditional face-to-face approach highly valued by employers. On-campus clinical intensive will teach our students health assessment skills and clinical procedures.
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Courses
The MSN-NNP degree plan consists of 20 courses, including clinical courses and a culmination of evidenced based practice project. All clinical work is focused on applying what you learn in class to clinical practice.

The educational standards and curriculum guidelines for the track adhere to the standards set by the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

Technology Requirements
Students will be required to have technology that is compatible with the required computerized testing platform software. Please see the IT Help Page for requirements needed for Windows and MAC OS computers. Chromebooks will not meet the technology requirements for the School of Nursing.
