Symphonic Wind Ensemble Auditions

Auditions for the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra are open to all UIndy students, and are required for all music majors and students receiving Ensemble Grants. Auditions are not required to participate in the Pep Band.

Audition Date

Friday, August, 22, 2025
CDFAC Room 109

In the event that you do not sign up for a time prior to the audition date, a sign-up sheet will be posted on the bulletin board outside CDFAC 109. Please sign up for a time near someone else to avoid large gaps in the schedule.

What to Expect

Your audition will consist of:

  • Major and minor scales
  • Slow Excerpt
  • Choice of technical excerpt
  • Sight reading

 

Please remember to present a professional image and be on time and warmed up.

After the audition

Results will be posted following the final audition, and rehearsals will begin on the first day of classes.
