Learning opportunities to empower and support our students are available through an introductory mental health & wellness training designed specifically for faculty and staff. Poor classroom performance due to student mental health concerns present unique challenges to educators and staff in promoting positive learning environments.
This basic training equips you with essential knowledge and skills to better understand and support students facing mental health challenges. Attending to students’ needs more holistically and fostering the well-being of our students is a collective responsibility and we are committed to working together to create a nurturing and effective learning environment. Participants will gain skills in:
- Recognizing signs of student mental health distress
- Effectively using strategies and tips for assisting students in need
- Identifying resources and appropriate referrals for on-campus support
- Fostering a more inclusive and supportive learning environment
