November 8, 2023: Faculty-led travel programs see new destinations for Spring Term

Faculty-led International Programs, for the spring of 2024 are leading students on study abroad programs to various countries, including Cyprus, the Dominican Republic, Japan, South Africa, Spain, and the UK.

October 25, 2023: University of Indianapolis Announces $4.1 Million Legacy Gift from Christel DeHaan Family Foundation

The grant will create an endowed fund which will support the mission, vision, and operations for the now-named Christel DeHaan Center for Global Engagement (CDCGE). The CDCGE is home to the University’s International Admissions Office, Office of Study Abroad, International Partnerships, and Office of International Student and Scholar Services.

April 20, 2023: IIE Selects the 2023 IIE Passport Project Awardees

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is pleased to announce that University of Indianapolis has been selected to receive a 2023 IIE American Passport Project grant in the amount of $4,125.00. This grant enables UIndy to nominate 25 eligible students and give each of them $165.00 to apply towards their U.S. passport application process. The IIE American Passport Project is an award for U.S. colleges and universities in the IIENetwork, which aims to support first-year, Pell-eligible students obtain a U.S. passport and encourage participation in study abroad.

UIndy prides itself on creating thoughtful application and clear plans for supporting our students through the passport and study abroad process. This award prioritizes first-year students with the hopes that they have ample time to obtain their U.S. passport and utilize the institution’s resources as proposed in the application to realize their study abroad goals.

12/2022: COVID-19 Vaccination Update

We continue to require individuals who are studying abroad to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, per CDC guidance, before traveling internationally unless those individuals have been approved by UIndy for a medical or religious exemption and their specific programs can support their participation. All UIndy-sponsored travelers need to abide by local virus mitigation strategies established by their destination/host countries/organizations/entities. The requirements of various countries, airlines, hotels, and other third party travel and tour providers are outside of UIndy's control and travelers are responsible for researching, understanding, and complying with all requirements relating to COVID-19 protocols in and en route to their travel destination before departing for any travel. All travelers are reminded that the COVID-19 pandemic situation remains fluid, and policies and regulations of UIndy and all third parties relating to the pandemic and public health and safety are subject to change at any time without advance notice. UIndy is not responsible for any financial losses, cancellations, travel interruptions, risks, and/or other consequences which may in any way be related to current or future COVID-19 policies, procedures, or requirements.


10/2022: UIndy’s Study Abroad Program gives students new perspectives

08/2022: CDCGE staff member named to 2022 cohort of James T. Morris Global Leadership Series

Ghina Sadek, Director of Global Education, was named to the 2022 cohort of the James T. Morris Global Leadership Series.

The Morris Series is a five-month professional development program for Hoosiers who demonstrate business or civic leadership with a global component.  Inspired by Jim Morris’ vast experience as well as The Center’s mission to support global initiatives across public, private and civic sectors, the sessions will discuss global leadership across government, business, and humanitarian efforts. The series will begin in August and conclude in December and provides a unique professional development program that allows its participants to learn about global leadership from a mix of keynote speakers, panelists, facilitated dialogue and collaborative activities.
