My favorite aspect of the Mathematics Department at UIndy is the caring, nurturing attitude of the professors. I felt that I had my very own math family. I still keep in contact with several of my math professors, and they are always happy to help me. Majoring in math at UIndy has given me a lifelong support group, which I value greatly. It has also fostered in me an excitement for learning math and a drive to succeed.
Mathematics
Be a problem solver. When you do math, so many doors open to your future. The mathematics program at UIndy not only teaches you mathematical rules, theories and concepts, but how to apply them to seek solutions to questions or to develop new mathematics and questions of your own. Whether you go on to graduate school or right into a career, your skills will add up to success.

- Classes prepare you to see math as more than an equation with an end result, but as a field with many possibilities
- Preparation for graduate studies
Minors in Mathematical Sciences
If you have an interest in or talent for mathematics but have decided on a different major, a minor in mathematical sciences can complement your studies and improve your quantitative skills. Completion of these minors require a minimum of 18-20 credit hours.
