Engineering Living-Learning Community

The Engineering LLC is designed specifically for those who are interested in the engineering profession and are direct-admit engineering students and pre-engineering majors. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and staff in UIndy’s School of Engineering and engage in the learning outside of the classroom through luncheons, programs and field trips while learning how to work together beyond your first year through workgroups. The Engineering LLC connects students with the same passion for engineering which will create lasting friendships!

Why an LLC?

Research has consistently shown that students who participate in a Living-Learning Community experience a higher level of success both socially and academically as compared to those who are not part of an LLC.

  • 87% of scholarship students and 66% of non-scholarship/non-honors students strongly agreed that participating in a ELC (Engineering Learning Community) helped maximize their academic success.
  • 75% of scholarship students and 67% of non-scholarship/non-honors students strongly agreed that their academic transition went well.
  • 57% percent of ELC respondents believed they belonged to a supportive peer group within two weeks of the start of the semester.

What I like the most about the Engineering LLC is that we care for those around us. Everyone in the Engineering LLC checks in on each other, those who are a part of our classes, and those who live in Cory Bretz!
