General Insurance Guidelines for Facility Usage

 

Anyone wishing to utilize University of Indianapolis facilities will be required to provide proof of insurance in accordance with the following:
  • Insurance certificate must be provided no earlier than one year, and no later than 30 days prior to the
  • It is the responsibility of the policy owner to notify the University of Indianapolis Event Services Office of any changes to, or cancellation of, the Such notice shall be provided to the University of Indianapolis in the event of policy changes or cancellation in advance of the scheduled event. Scheduled events will not proceed in the absence of insurance or alternative arrangements approved by the University of Indianapolis in advance of the event.

Coverage

  • Minimum coverage of not less than One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) with additional umbrella excess coverage in an amount of not less than One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00), covering injury to persons (including those injuries resulting in death) and property damage to the facility and all property located therein
  • In some instances, additional lines and limits of insurance may be required by the University of Indianapolis for an event, which may include additional commercial general liability insurance, business automobile liability insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D – required for all athletic events) and liquor liability/so-called “dram shop”

Endorsements

  • The policy must list “The University of Indianapolis” as an additional insured on the policy (not only as “certificate holder”)
  • If the event is catered, The policy must list “UIndy Dining Services, LLC” as an additional insured on the policy (not only as “certificate holder”)
