Psychology with Occupational or Physical Therapy

If you're interested in applying psychology to a health profession focused on patient rehabilitation of injuries or disabilities, consider combining a psychology degree with occupational or physical therapy.

Please note: If you wish to combine psychology with OT or PT, you must choose the traditional psychology major instead of the applied psychology major.

Psychology with occupational therapy major

The psychology major combines with the pre-occupational concentration to form a separate major. This program allows you to take graduate occupational therapy classes in your fourth year that count toward both your undergraduate degree in psychology and your Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) degree.

Psychology with physical therapy concentration

This program allows you to complete an undergraduate degree in psychology and all the prerequisites needed to get into a graduate program in physical therapy. You'll be able to complete all coursework in three years, and apply to graduate school during your final year. Unlike the psychology with OT program, this program will not allow you to take graduate courses as an undergraduate - you must apply and be accepted to graduate school in physical therapy. This program does, however, give you the advantage of starting your graduate studies a year earlier!
