Antigone

by Sophocles Translated by Timberlake Wertenbake

April 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13 at 8:00 p.m., April 7 and 14 at 3:00 p.m.
Ransburg Auditorium

One of Sophocles' most famous plays, this powerful Greek tragedy explores the path of the willful Antigone when she defies King Kreon by burying her dead brother against Kreon's wishes. Antigone's brave act and Kreon's retaliation prove to create a powerful string of tragedies when the king's own son, Antigone's fiance', openly opposes his father's will.
