Nursing Student Organizations & Activities

Student Nurses Association (SNA)

The Student Nurses Association is open to all nursing students and serves three primary purposes: to promote professional development and interests of students, to promote health and wellness in the community and on campus through health-related activities, and to act as a support network for students during their years of study. Students will have the opportunity to learn about new areas of nursing, as well as current issues vital to the nursing profession. Students will help foster a health-conscious culture at UIndy through participation in campus-wide events like Pink Week, Homecoming, the Life Expo and blood drives.

Other annual activities of the SNA vary each year depending on student interests. Past activities have included:

  • Meetings with guest speakers
  • Welcoming new Hounds
  • Participating in community health fairs
  • Hosting and participating in the Indiana Association of Nursing Students conference
  • Fundraising events for community agencies
  • Hosting events for UIndy students

Questions regarding membership in the SNA may be directed to Jane Toon, SNA Lead Faculty Sponsor.
