UIndy Police Department
Public Safety at UIndyThe University of Indianapolis Police Department is a full-sworn police department that oversees campus safety and security. UIPD employs full-time officers certified by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. They enforce all local and state laws, in addition to University regulations, and are licensed to carry firearms.
UIndy police are an important part of the University community. Through daily interaction, officers get to know students, faculty and staff. In addition to typical police duties, UIndy police provide safety escort services and motorist assistance. Officers frequently conduct classes and informational sessions on such topics as personal safety or alcohol education.

UIndy's campus has over 20 emergency call boxes in strategic locations to provide extra peace of mind. In addition, UIndy is just minutes from local fire and ambulance services, as well as a hospital and urgent care facility.

Parking is free at UIndy, but students and employees must obtain permit stickers that are good for one academic year. Guests can choose from several visitors’ lots. When you park, please ensure that you are in an appropriate lot based on your permit sticker or guest status.
