Events & Services for the Community
Arts & cultural events
Each year UIndy presents more than 100 arts-related events. From concerts and plays to art exhibitions and poetry readings, we’ve got something for everyone. Most events are free to the public and many are family-friendly. Check out our arts site to see what’s coming up or call 317-788-3251. In addition to seasonal performances, we have several permanent attractions, including the UIndy Sculpture Walk and the Master Au Ho-nien Museum.
Private music lessons for people of all ages are available through UIndy’s Community Music Center, which also offers several summer camps.
Athletic events
UIndy has 23 NCAA Division II athletic teams, many of which are nationally ranked. Tickets for most events are $5 for adults and free for children ages 12 and under. Adult tickets for football and basketball are $8. Choose your favorite sport and bring the family to cheer on the Greyhounds!
UIndy also offers summer camps in several sports.
Recreation and fitness facilities
The UIndy Tennis Center, located a mile east of campus at 2727 National Ave., houses seven indoor tennis courts. UIndy offers lessons and daily court time to members of the community. Call 317-788-7700 for more information.
Krannert Memorial Library
Members of the community who are 18 or older from Marion County and the surrounding “doughnut” counties are eligible for a Community Borrower Card. They may borrow books, but not media, journals or reference materials. Community members also may come into the library to read books, journals and reference materials, but guest access to computers and library databases is not available. Community borrowers must follow all library policies.
Campus facility rental
Several campus facilities are available for rent, including meeting and conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums and athletic facilities. Only current UIndy students, faculty and staff can hold wedding receptions on campus. Call 317-788-3566 for more information.
Speakers
Faculty members often speak to community groups about their areas of expertise.
