BSN Track Options

We recognize that the path to nursing is not one-size-fits-all. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program offers three distinct tracks to cater to where you are and where you want to go.

The Traditional BSN program is suited for first-time college students, and our online and on-campus Accelerated  BSN (ABSN) programs are designed to build on a prior completed bachelor’s degree in any field.

For students entering college for the first time, this four-year BSN program offers a comprehensive on-campus experience. You will balance a strong liberal arts foundation with intensive nursing coursework and faculty-supervised clinical rotations starting in your junior year.

Explore the Traditional BSN

If you prefer the energy of the classroom and have a previous degree, our on-campus ABSN provides intensive training in a traditional format. This track utilizes local Indiana placement sites and our campus residencies to prepare you for the workforce in as few as 15 months.

Explore the ABSN In-Person Track

Ideal for those who already hold a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, this fast-track program allows you to complete your coursework online. You will engage in two in-person on-campus skills weeks and complete local clinical placements as close to your home as is available and possible, allowing you to transition into nursing without relocating for a significant period of time.

Clinical and Simulated Nursing Experience

The School of Nursing builds confidence and clinical expertise through real-world practice, preparing students for certification and high NCLEX exam scores. Students practice imparting high-quality care in state-of-the-art clinical environments, from our on-campus simulation labs to the work environments of our local partners. With our 8:1 clinical ratio, your instructor is always nearby to provide real-time feedback and support—even for our online Nursing majors.

No matter your goals, our active hands-on service and leadership opportunities extend your nurse training beyond the classroom. Nursing majors at UIndy pair their learning with participation in student organizations, honor societies, and community health initiatives serving local populations.
