Through athletic training I was able to work with different athletic teams at many different sites, ranging from middle school to the college setting. Last fall I worked with the Ben Davis High School football team. It was a great learning experience, and I was able to grow the skills that I learned in the classroom.

Mission
The mission of the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program (MSAT) at the University of Indianapolis is to develop qualified healthcare professionals in the field of athletic training. Through rigorous and comprehensive didactic and clinical education encompassing the Domains of Athletic Training, the MSAT strives to stimulate critical thinking and application of athletic training knowledge and clinical skills.
The MSAT will provide students with the knowledge, psychomotor skills, and foundational behaviors of professional practice necessary to succeed as an evidence-based provider of athletic training services. Additionally, the MSAT educates students to allow them to engage in compassionate healthcare. Students who complete the MSAT at the University of Indianapolis will be eligible to become an athletic trainer certified by the Board of Certification.

About the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program
Athletic trainers work with physicians to provide prevention, clinical diagnosis, emergency treatment, therapeutic care and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. They also prescribe exercise programs or make diet recommendations for better performance and nutrition. In the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program at UIndy, you'll learn advanced, hands-on clinical skills at a rapid rate and integrate those skills in multiple clinical placements.
Program Length & Format
The program consists of 65 credit hours, completed over 2 years (6 semesters, including summers). Coursework involves a combination of classroom learning and clinical experiences.
Curriculum
Clinical Experience
At UIndy, we know it’s important for you to get practical experience early and often in your education. With five clinical rotation semesters built into the curriculum, including three full-time clinical placements, you’ll put core classroom concepts into action.
Certification
Graduates from the athletic training program are eligible to earn national certification by passing the Board of Certification exam. You can expect to graduate well prepared for this exam. The MSAT program since conception (2019) has had a first time pass rate of 97%.
