Background
Former dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Indianapolis. Has also been chair of the Department of Modern Languages for many years but now devotes his time exclusively to teaching and research interests.

Patricia is a native Spanish speaker from Santafé de Bogotá, Colombia. She has taught English as a Second Language, and was an official translator and interpreter for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before coming to the University of Indianapolis.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia. Completed her undergraduate and first master's degree in Colombia. Finished a second master's degree and PhD at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Has been teaching Spanish and Literature for more than 10 years and has been taking students to study abroad for more than eight years.

the relationship between literature and power from a Colonial and Postcolonial perspective; the indigenous perspective of the Colony

Fun fact
I share with my colleague, Dr. Daniel Briere, genealogical ties to French-Canada, more specifically to the town of Trois Pistoles (3 Pistols) on the Gaspé Peninsula, where my ancestors settled in 1671. Despite my background, I ended up teaching German rather than French. (I am also distantly related to Celine Dion, a blood tie that I believe Dr. Briere cannot claim for himself.)
