Art & Design Exhibitions and Lectures

Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center Gallery
The Art Gallery in the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, adjacent to the Ruth Lilly Performance Hall, hosts four to six exhibitions annually. Major local and regional artists are the focus of most exhibitions, though the gallery also holds juried exhibitions and exhibitions from national and international artists. Remaining true to its home on a university campus, the major focus of the gallery program is its teaching mission regarding students of art and design.
The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Admission is free. For more information, call 317-788-3253.
Dee Schaad Student Gallery
The Dee Schaad Student Gallery hosts student capstone exhibitions each semester in the Art & Design Annex. There are pop-up exhibitions throughout the academic year for studio classes.
The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Admission is free. For more information about the gallery schedule, call 317-788-3253 or email art@uindy.edu.
Art & Design Lecture Series
The Art & Design Lecture Series features individuals, pairs, or groups of creative professionals in six to eight lectures each academic year. The lectures are typically held in the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center Lecture Hall 115. Designed for Art & Design Students to explore the wide and diverse creative pathways and careers an art and design major can take, each lecture is free and open to the public and the department would love for you to join us. Previously the series has featured studio artists, designers, art therapists, art educators, curators, illustrators, Not-for-profit professionals, exhibit designers and fabricators, and many more including several alumni. For a semester calendar of events contact the Art & Design Office at art@uindy.edu.
