The UIndy Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is a comprehensive system designed to ensure the protection of the rights and welfare of participants in human research. The HRPP incorporates regulatory compliance, education and quality assurance. The HRPP office, in partnership with the research community, and the Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of persons who voluntarily participate in research studies conducted under the aegis of UIndy. The HRPP office provides researchers and members of the IRB with professional guidance, information, and administrative support.
The UIndy HRPP operates under a federalwide assurance with the Office for Human Research Protections within the US Department of Health and Human Services.
