About the Flexible MBA Program
Program Length & Format
The program is 30 credit hours in length. The program can be completed full-time in one year during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Students can also complete the program in a part-time format, taking approximately two to three years to complete.
Most MBA courses are offered in a hybrid format. Courses are primarily online with some on-campus sessions. Students will typically be on UIndy’s campus four (4) times for each course. Once at the beginning, for a few touch points with your professor and fellow students, in the middle of the term, and at the end for final exams and/or project presentations.
The hybrid format provides a high level of flexibility for working professionals, preserves interaction amongst student teams, and facilitates the opportunity for instructors to incorporate real world projects and professional certifications into the curriculum.
Class Times & Location
Most coursework will be delivered in an asynchronous, online format. When a class does meet in person on UIndy's campus, it will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening from 5:45 - 8:45 p.m. ET.
Curriculum
All MBA students take the Business Fundamentals curriculum, consisting of three (3) courses. You then select two of five concentrations (AI, Leadership, Marketing, etc), which also consist of three (3) courses each.
Each of these concentrations, like Business Fundamentals, comprises a certificate. An elective course or program capstone then rounds out the requirements for the MBA degree, for a total of ten (10) courses. So as you progress through the program, you “stack” professional certificates towards earning the MBA degree.
Alternatively, students can opt for the Core MBA curriculum, which is a collection of ten (10) prescribed courses, including those in Business Fundamentals. The Core MBA covers the broadest range of topics and is designed for a student whose sole objective is the degree (and isn’t necessarily interested in simultaneously earning professional certificates).
