Underclassmen shine at Track and Field Challenge

For the second consecutive weekend, the UIndy track and field teams took to the ARC for a home meet. The Indianapolis Track and Field Challenge was a two-day event featuring various schools from the state, including Marian (Ind.), Butler, Indiana Wesleyan, IUPUI and Vincennes University.

In the weekend’s first two events, juniors Melissa Rios (7.97 seconds) and Quinntyn Qualls (6.91 seconds) each finished third in the women’s and men’s 60 meter dash, respectively. The two were also the Greyhounds best finishers in 200 meter dash, with Qualls placing third (22.39 seconds) and Rios finishing in fourth (26.83 seconds).
