UIndy's new president

UIndy's incoming ninth president, Dr. Robert Manuel recently visited campus. Manuel comes to UIndy from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and officially takes over in July for retiring president Dr. Beverley Pitts.

Journalism students win state, national awards

UIndy's journalism students recently won several awards for their work over the past year. The Reflector and The Reflector Online won ten Indiana Collegiate Press Association awards and 19 Society of Professional Journalists. UIndy's literary and fine arts magazine, Etchings, also won an ICPA award.

UIndy's baseball team won the 2012 GLVC championship.

Baseball team has no-hitter, wins GLVC

Not only did UIndy's baseball team win the GLVC championship, their victories included a no-hitter by junior pitcher Phil Wheeler. The game made ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays. This was UIndy's seventh GLVC championship this year and helped UIndy earn the GLVC All Sports award for the first time in nine years.

McGann earns Fulbright grant

Retiring UIndy English professor Mary McGann has been selected for a prestigious Senior Lecturer award from the Fulbright Scholar Program. Through the program, McGann will teach at Poland's University of Warsaw during the 2012-13 academic year.
