Visitation Hours
Visitation hours are the hours that members of the opposite sex are allowed on each other’s residence hall floors and rooms. Students are expected to escort their guests on and off the floors and are also responsible for making sure their guests are off the floors by the designated times. Visitation hours do not apply to the lobbies of the residence halls. Residents are free to socialize or study with their guests in the lobby area. Lobbies and study lounges are not to be used for overnight guests.
The residence hall staffs are charged with enforcing visitation policies and all policies of the residence halls. Every night, each residence hall has one Resident Assistant (RA) and one Residence Director (RD) on duty. Duty consists of walking the halls of the buildings and being available for questions and emergencies. The RDs are in charge of each residence hall, while RAs are responsible for their individual floors. RAs follow certain procedures learned in RA training when confronting a visitation violation. All violations are reported to the Residence Director, and sanctions are handled through the RD as well.
