Nursing Student Organizations & Activities
Student Nurses Association (SNA)
The Student Nurses Association is open to all nursing students and serves three primary purposes: to promote professional development and interests of students, to promote health and wellness in the community and on campus through health-related activities, and to act as a support network for students during their years of study. Students will have the opportunity to learn about new areas of nursing, as well as current issues vital to the nursing profession. Students will help foster a health-conscious culture at UIndy through participation in campus-wide events like Pink Week, Homecoming, the Life Expo and blood drives.
Other annual activities of the SNA vary each year depending on student interests. Past activities have included:
- Monthly meetings with guest speakers
- Serving Thanksgiving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana
- Family Fun Day in the nursing lab
- Canned goods drive for local food pantries
- Movie night: Call the Midwife
- Open house events
Questions regarding membership in the SNA may be directed to Kathy Hetzler, SNA Advisor.
