This track provides opportunities to discuss research and theories related to service-learning work in curriculum development in all disciplines. This track will apply research and theories to deal with issues and challenges that arise when developing the service-learning curriculum. How can we put theories and research into work? How can we use service-learning to test theories?
This track covers the transformative link between teaching and practice in a service-learning environment with the understanding that there must always be a balance between classroom learning and practice. How do you engage your students in learning? When did you see the light of discovery in their faces? How are academic learning and personal service combined to create relationships that will prepare students to become responsible citizens of the world?
This track covers intercommunity and interdisciplinary collaboration by emphasizing the interplay between students' educational experiences and community involvement. Social responsibility is heightened and education is strengthened through civic engagement. Participants are encouraged to share examples and stories of intercommunity and interdisciplinary collaboration from inception to implementation.
