Zak Mitiche

Studying:
Sociology and philosophy with concentrations in ethics and social research

Research:
Conducted oral histories (in-depth interviews) with six urban farmers to discover what services would be helpful for them in order to thrive in their cities.

Career:
Zak wants to become a professor and teach others about societies and social behavior. He has plans for pursuing his PhD in sociology after he graduates UIndy.

Regarding working with faculty:
"It was extremely helpful working one-on-one with professor Amanda Miller. Through her mentorship she helped me learn research methods from the beginning to the end."


Lauren Kirchner
 

Studying:
Psychology, occupational therapy and photography

Research:
Through photography, Lauren used her interest in "changes over time" to systematically capture five locations over a 10-month span.

Career:
After UIndy, Lauren will be fully prepared to work as an entry-level occupational therapist and has interests in working with outpatient care or in pediatrics.

Regarding working with faculty:
"Professor Donna Adams shared her passion for photography with me. Her experience inspired me to spend many weekends traveling to take photos for my research project."


Hannah Clinton

Studying:
Chemistry and biology with a pre-veterinary medicine concentration

Research:
Conducting a chemical analysis of gourmet and commercial dog foods to compare heavy metal concentrations.

Career:
UIndy is preparing Hannah for Veterinary School. She hopes to provide
the best health and nutrition information possible for animals.

Regarding working with faculty:
"I really like collaborating with professor Brad Neal and having intelligent conversations with him. I appreciate the guidance and independence he gives me."
