Welcome to the R.B. Annis School of Engineering at the University of Indianapolis (UIndy), home to ABET accredited and rapidly growing engineering programs. To address Indiana’s increasing demand for skilled engineers and STEM-related professions, we now offer seven specialized areas of study in the exciting and fast-growing fields: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Computer Science, and General Engineering.
UIndy is one of few schools in the region to offer these unique and innovative programs, which will provide you with authentic design opportunities through our multidisciplinary DesignSpine experience, invigorated by a strong general education core that develops well-rounded professionals.

This is an exciting year for us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of engineering at UIndy! We have built a growing, successful, and nationally distinctive, ABET-accredited engineering program centered on innovation, hands-on experiential learning, and student success over the past decade.
At UIndy, engineering is something you do—not simply something you study. Through our DesignSpine program, students solve real-world problems for industry and nonprofit partners early in their college experience. They collaborate with stakeholders to develop meaningful solutions to authentic, open-ended challenges.

At UIndy, engineering is something you do—not simply something you study. Through our DesignSpine® program, students begin solving real-world problems for industry and nonprofit partners early in their college experience. Working in teams, they collaborate with customers, faculty advisors, and peers to develop meaningful solutions to authentic, open-ended challenges. All UIndy engineering programs are ABET accredited, demonstrating that they meet rigorous standards for preparing graduates to enter the engineering profession.
Along the way, students build much more than technical knowledge. Our curriculum emphasizes communication, teamwork, leadership, entrepreneurship, and project management; skills today’s employers seek and tomorrow’s engineers need. UIndy engineering students do not simply complete a collection of courses. Our students are ready to become successful engineers, engaged professionals and effective members of our community. Through service, discovery, collaboration, and personal attention, our dedicated faculty and staff will challenge, encourage, and support our students throughout their journey.
When our students join UIndy Engineering, they become part of something special: a community of engineers, a community of Greyhounds, and a close-knit team where ideas, talents, and goals matter.

The curriculum emphasizes project-oriented courses integrated with hands-on experiences. Students who study a broader variety of subjects develop valuable communication skills such as business and technical writing, public speaking and presentation readiness. This unique educational experience encourages students to immerse themselves in the engineering world by challenging themselves to think bigger, imagine greater and continuously work to improve and expand their knowledge.
