Why Choose the UIndy Teach (STEM)3 Program?
UIndy is a leader in education reform and teacher education. Our School of Education uses innovative and reflective practices, helping students and teachers prepare for new-age challenges in an ever-changing world. The collaboration between our School of Education and Shaheen College of Arts and Sciences creates specialized learning opportunities, making graduates from Teach (STEM)3 uniquely prepared to advance STEM achievement for their students.
Small school focused on personal attention
UIndy is a selective, independent, inclusive institution of 5,300 students located minutes from downtown Indianapolis. Our smaller setting gives students the ability to work closely with experienced, supportive faculty and staff, ensuring you’re prepared and ready to successfully teach in your own classroom.
Job search assistance
UIndy takes helping our graduates find meaningful work seriously, which is why we provide many opportunities for our Scholars to engage with potential employers. During the academic year, we’ll bring in a panel of HR directors from partner schools to meet with Scholars, showcase Scholar profiles to school administrators across the state, and remain in constant communication with school systems looking to recruit graduates with strong PBL preparation.
High placement rate
We've had a 100% job placement rate for all of our cohorts. Our Scholars typically work in urban or metropolitan school districts in the Indianapolis area, though some have taken teaching positions in other urban areas in Indiana.
