Advanced Project Management

About the program

The Advanced Project Management workshop is designed to educate the attendee to tools and techniques utilized in project management to include how a successful project implementation aligns with organizational strategy. The workshop will discuss PMBOK® knowledge areas, the project scope checklist, calculations to establish the critical path(s) within the project and project constraints. The successful attendee will understand the social-technical expertise of the project manager, types of project teams and how projects are estimated based on the work breakdown structure (WBS). Those attending will spend time using project software and will have the opportunity to leave the final session with a short-cut sheet describing steps to demonstrate their project idea by creating a Gantt chart that displays the project’s timeline, critical path and predecessors.

  • Participants will learn, understand and apply tools and techniques utilized in project management.
  • Participants will learn and understand the impact of organizational strategy on project management.
  • Participants will learn, understand and apply knowledge areas from the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®).

Designed for:

This program is designed for individuals who have a basic understanding of project management and who have completed an introductory course in project management or an equivalent.
