Barry Barnes

Background
Barry is an accomplished artist and professor working in clay for more than 20 years. Both his functional and sculptural work has been shown in regional and national exhibitions. Public art is a passion and he has been commissioned for several permanent outdoor installations in Arizona and Indiana and has a piece in UIndy's Sculpture Walk. Barry previously taught at Arizona State University, Mesa Community College, the Indianapolis Arts Center, and most recently, Vincennes University. He founded Beech Grove Clay Works on Indianapolis' south side, which continues to support local community arts.

developing new ceramic construction processes and surface techniques for large sculptural pieces

Jonathan DiBlasi, Assistant Professor, Art & Design

Jonathan DiBlasi

Background
Jonathan explores intersections between art and technology through a hybrid artistic practice that implements digital and electronic processes. He exhibits his work nationally, and in 2011 co-founded an artist collective, {exurb}, comprised of artists and engineers who collaborate on various projects. In addition, he has worked in the visual design profession as a web designer. 

Research Interests
Jonathan employs a research-based studio art practice that includes areas of programming, physical computing, interaction design, evolving web technologies, telecommunications technologies, media theory and archaeology, and the history of technology in art.

Julia Taugner, Associate Professor, Art & Design

Background
I have 12 years of design industry experience working as a graphic designer, art director and manager in design studios, for publishers and for in-house design groups in St. Louis and Indianapolis. My area of expertise is editorial design for magazines and books. I also have experience in annual report design, branding and poster design.
