Log into JobHounds Connect today to get your career on track!

JobHoundConnect is UIndy's password-protected job and candidate data management system for students and alumni. JHC is a key resource for identifying and connecting with potential employers. If you're new to JHC, please take note of the following:

Career Services receives hundreds of employment-related notices each month. Our office practices due diligence to insure the legitimacy of the employers that post positions on JHC. However, it is impossible to thoroughly investigate every announced employment opportunity. It is the candidate’s responsibility to take the necessary precautions when interviewing or accepting positions, and he or she is responsible for researching the organization.

Internships and career positions

Upper-level students in search of internships and degree-oriented career positions must provide Career Services with an up-to-date, winning resume—one that distinguishes you as a serious job seeker and candidate. Career Services is happy to help you create a really good resume. Schedule an appointment in our office, or check out samples and tips in the resource library in JHC. Students wishing to be referred for internships should attend an internship orientation session before submitting a resume to JHC.

Campus jobs

Getting a campus job can be a great opportunity to develop workplace skills and gain valuable pre-professional experience. Before contacting a campus supervisor, make sure you know something about the targeted office or department (use resources like the university website, catalog, student handbook, etc.). Also, have a typewritten summary or resume of your qualifications to give him or her (which you also may post on JHC). Wear casual but clean and neat clothing (no shorts) and make a nice appearance. Put on your best manners (get the supervisor's name and title, Mr., Ms., Dr., and use it). Finally, remember that there are forms to complete before starting a campus job (available online in JHC or in the Accounting Office). Please reference the Student Employment Handbook in the resource library of JHC for additional guidelines.

Off-campus part-time, seasonal & summer jobs

Students seeking a job off campus can find many part-time, seasonal and summer opportunities on JHC. While it is not required to have your resume in the system, it certainly is a good idea. Also, be sure to check out the Events & Activities calendar, as well as announcements on JHC, for student employment fairs and visiting organizations in search of student employees.
