UIndy Arts is celebrating 22 years of the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center with more than 100 events devoted to arts and culture. A schedule of events for the week is listed below. Admission is free to the public, unless otherwise indicated.

Art Exhibition: Art & Design Juried Student Exhibition

The Art Gallery (adjacent to the Ruth Lilly Performance Hall), Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center.

This annual juried exhibition showcases the art and design work of University of Indianapolis students.

Austin Hartman, violin; Leonid Sirotkin, oboe, Dennis McCafferty, cello; Thomas Gerber, organ; Marko Petričić, bayan; Nemanja Ostojić, guitar; Haruka Ostojić, piano; Anne Reynolds, flute; Pamela French, oboe, Christina Martin, clarinet; Darin Sorley, horn; Mark Ortwein, bassoon; Paul Bro and Scotty Stepp, saxophones.

Faculty and guests feature European classics from the 18th, 20th, and 21st  centuries, from the intricate counterpoint of J.S. Bach to the rhythmic energy of György Ligeti. The evening opens with Bach's Trio Sonata in D minor, BWV 527, followed by Marko Petričić playing music of Alexander Pushkarenko and Vladislav Zolotaryov on the bayan accordion. Nemanja and Haruka Ostojić perform the well-known Adagio movement from Joaquin Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez; our distinguished wind faculty play Ligeti's lively Six Bagatelles for woodwind quintet; Paul Bro and Scotty Stepp conclude the evening with Guillermo Lago's recent "Charlas" for two saxophones.

Richard Ratliff presents an evening of personal favorites from the 18th through 21st centuries: music of C.P.E. Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Scriabin, Kodaly, Rochberg, and UIndy's John Berners (his 2013 "Star Harp Tender"). To conclude the program, students and former students Jim Loughery, Allegra Sorley, and Brandon Vos will join Dr. Ratliff in music for two pianos by Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, and Johnny Mandel.

Theatre Production (Preview): Student-Directed Productions

Esch Hall, Studio Theatre

Productions are fully staffed and designed by students as a laboratory experience, putting into practice the principles they have learned in the classroom. Working with faculty and staff, the students select, cast and direct the plays, and also supervise lighting, design, and construction for the productions. Specific shows to be announced.
Admission: $12 general; $10 for alumni, senior citizens, groups of eight or more, and non-UIndy students with ID
Free preview: April 20, 8 p.m.
Thrifty Thursdays: April 27, 8 p.m. $6 general admission.
