Background
Teaches macro practice classes along with policy, addictions and capstone classes in the social work program. Has been working in the field of social work for more than 25 years with adults, youth and families in social service, residential and hospital settings. Published an article on developing a global model for service-learning in Service-Learning in Higher Education: National and International Connections. Has presented at three international symposia on service-learning and facilitated service-learning experiences in the U.S. and Nicosia, Cyprus. President of the Indiana Chapter of the North American Christians in Social Work and serves as a marriage mentor and counselor at College Park Church in Indianapolis.

Favorite thing about UIndy

Tracy Marschall, MSW

Background
Has worked with a variety of agencies in practice, such as the Marion County Mental Health Association, the Information and Referral Network, St. Elizabeth's Home, Planned Parenthood, and the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, and has also provided supervision to high-conflict families during visitation with non-custodial parents. Has coached teens through crisis calls, performed case management and mentoring to pregnant teens, worked with adoptive families, and mediated parenting tasks with highly litigious couples. An advocate for families on the legislative level, as well as in the family with complex problems, has also practiced on the macro level with community groups by providing technical support, such as program development, evaluation, board development and pursuing the recognition of nonprofit status by the IRS as they seek to implement strategies to address community needs. Previously a faculty member at Indiana University.

diverse family systems and theory development; divorce, custody and visitation (with a focus on therapeutic supervised visitation); service learning

Favorite thing about UIndy
Without question, the most enjoyable part of my chosen career path is interacting with students, getting to know them and their families as part of UIndy’s family. I feel seeing them achieve their goals of learning and professionalism is the most rewarding gift a teacher can receive.

Background
Professional experience working with older adults in long-term care facilities. Was Executive Director of two adoption agencies, one of which housed a residential program for teen mothers, and an MSW Field Specialist with Indiana University School of Social Work for four years. Recipient of the Phylis Lan Lin Program in Social Work Field Instructor of the Year in 2008 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011 from Marian University.

Brenda Ray, MSSA, BSW

Background
As a 2012 Journey Fellow, I have been to New Zealand, Australia, Belize, Honduras, and Mexico to see firsthand how youth work is done in other countries. I worked at Ivy Tech Community College for 8 ½ years. I have completed six practicums/internships: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana; Catholic Charities Holy Family Shelter; Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church; Damar Services El Camino Group Home; Damar Services Main Office; AGAPE Counseling and Human Services, LLC.
