Campus Maintenance Projects

Good Hall, the University's symbol of history and tradition dating back to the founding of the campus, is in the middle of a a much-needed renovation.

In June the white caps and crowns on the portico (porch) of the building were removed. Crews worked hard to preserve as much of the original structure as possible. The portico roof and columns will be brought down in early to mid-July. Phase two of the project involves replacing the portico and renovating the interior of the building, which will remain open during the construction. The entire restoration project is expected to be complete in Summer 2018.

Good Hall is a proud landmark of our community and for the University of Indianapolis family, including more than 32,000 alumni. The building has touched the lives of many on campus through the years, and it will remain a visible representation of the traditions and values we hold sacred on campus. I look forward to sharing with you soon some opportunities to celebrate Good Hall as a community by remembering the past and looking toward the future.

The project to remove the west-facing porch and columns began in June and the area affected will be barricaded. No road closures will occur. Restoration of the porch is scheduled for Summer 2018. Expected completion date: August 2017.

Renovations are underway in Martin Hall related to the new R.B. Annis School of Engineering. Updates are being made both to the first and second floors, with a new entryway being installed on the west side of the building, directly south of the west entrance, to allow for large equipment to be installed. Estimated completion date: August 2017.

Roof replacement projects on the three properties will begin the week of July 5. Expected completion: mid-August 2017.

Repairs are underway to address the deteriorating brick façade on the north and south side of Ransburg Auditorium. Expected completion date: August 2017.

The installation of new countertops on the first and second floor restrooms will begin July 16. These restrooms will be closed during the work. Expected completion: August 2017.

Energy efficient doors and windows will be replaced in Nicoson Hall beginning the week of July 5. Nicoson will be open during this remodeling. Estimated completion: August 2017.

Repair work to the entrance of the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center will begin the week of June 19. The main doors of RLFC along Campus Drive will remain open during the project. Expected completion: August 2017.

Repairs began this week on East Hall to address some weather damage to the façade. Expected completion: August 2017.
