Indianapolis Athens College
The University of Indianapolis has been offering degree programs in Athens, Greece, through Indianapolis Athens College, known informally as the Athens Campus; however, economic conditions in Greece have made it very difficult to continue doing so according to the high standards of the University and the expectations of our accrediting agency. As a result, the Board of Directors of Indianapolis Athens College and its holding company, UIndy International, LLC, have decided to cease admitting students in all undergraduate and some graduate programs at the Athens Campus, and to stop offering courses in those programs as of August 31. The decision is supported by the Board of Trustees of the University of Indianapolis.
The Athens Campus plans to continue providing its contracted MBA program for students from Saudi Arabia, and to use that financially viable program as a model for developing new programs on a contract basis.
The Indianapolis Athens College and the University of Indianapolis are working with Greek authorities and with its accrediting agency to ensure that the disruption to students, faculty and staff is minimized to the extent possible. The Athens Campus has established a Transfer and Counseling Center to assist students in reviewing options for degree completion or transfer. The center in the Ipitou 9 building will be staffed by Registrar Maria Tsahas, Bursar Evgenia Ghizas, and Academic Advisor Ellie Despotaki. Its services are available to both current students and previously enrolled students who have not yet completed their degrees. Students may call the center at any of these numbers: 210-323-6647; 210-323-9785; or 210-323-9740.
